Problem:

Everett home owner wanted better WiFi security from his Frontier DSL modem, which also worked as a WiFi router. The original equipment only supported WEB encryption.

Solution:

Home owner’s replacement DSL modem had been in a box for two years. Upon trying to activate it, it failed. A different brand and model (Netgear DM200) was located at a store, purchased, and put into service. A separate WiFi router was then connected to the modem with new SSID and password. All wireless devices were then connected to the new wireless router with WPA encryption.
