Windows 10 update and new wifi printer install
Problem:
Lynnwood resident wanted to get Windows 10 current and ink-jet printers on the network.
Solution:
Removed printer and components from box and set printer up. Connected WiFi printer to network. Did test print pages. Then updated Windows 10 to Creator Edition. Then test printer again. All good!
Comcast and Tivo and WiFi troubleshooting
Problem:
Couple moved into new Kirkland lake-front condo and were having trouble orchestrating the Tivo, Comcast, optical aaudio, and WiFi.
Solution:
Arrived on scene. Separated old and new equipmnet, hooked everything up, and began testing. Tivo was missing the cable card, which was located and installed. Wireless speakers were paired with the sound bar. WiFi SSIDs adjusted for better recognition and use of two bands.
Getting Comcast and Sonos and iPhones working together
Problem:
Customer in Queen Anne neighborhood of Seattle could not get Sonos to work with current Comcast router and iPhones. Additionally, rooms in corners of the large condo unit were dropping WiFi connections.
Solution:
Analysed the current setup, discovered two conflicting networks and incompatible hardware. Reduced the network to one and added compatible hardware to extend WiFi range.
Connect Amazon Echo with TP-Link HS110 Wireless Switch
Problem:
Customer in Broadview neighborhood of Seattle wanted to remotely control a kitchen light with the Amazon Echo. Customer already had purchased a wireless TP-Link switch that would work with Amazon Echo, but could not get everything — apps, accounts, devices — connected up right.
Solution:
Analysed the current setup, resolved the problem, and customer was then able to turn light off and on with voice command to the Echo.
Eero and WiFi problems in three-level house
Problem:
Solution:
Analysed the current setup. Then reconfigured physical connections to ensure each component was properly connected to the correct hardware. Then made configuration changes within Eero router setup.
