Set up Windows 10 Laptop with Printer

Problem:

Lynnwood customer purchased new Windows 10 Dell laptop. Wanted someone to do the entire setup that included initial configuration of Windows, updates, driver installations, including printer.

Solution:

Unboxed computer and worked through the first-time Windows 10 questions for initial configuration. Got and installed updates to Dell hardware and Windows 10 operating system. Set up shortcuts to various websites frequently visited for ease of use. Installed printer driver and software.

Networking for Onkyo TX-8160 amp with Internet Radio

Problem:

Seattle Maple Leaf Customer owned an Onkyo TX-8160 amplifier with built-in Internet radio. Customer could not get device connected to network and therefore was unable to use Internet radio.

Solution:

Found manual on the Internet, then began working through the various steps to set up a WiFi connection into owner’s Local Area Network (LAN) — filling in the steps missing from the manual. Then, configured the device to use the integrated Tunein app. Set up remote and local Internet stations for one-button favorites.

VoIP Phones with Menu Options

Problem:

Small business wanted low-cost VoIP phone service with two Cisco VoIP phones combined with a simple menu system.

Solution:

Put the main number into a low-cost, but extremely reliable VoIP service. Cost per month: about $3.00 basic phone cost (including E911), plus $0.01/minute or less. Cost includes the menu system that uses custom recordings, for four options:

Press 1 for Manager
Press 2 for Office
Press 3 for recorded information
Press 4 to leave comments

Manager option rings two VoIP phones and manager cell phone at same time.

Voice mail is delivered as audio file attached to email.
