Replace Original 1-Terabyte laptop drive with 1-Terabyte SSD
Problem:
User wanted to increase speed of i7 laptop with 8 gigs of RAM.
Solution:
Cloned original 1-terabyte spin drive with 1-terabyte Solid State Drive (SSD). Boot time significantly reduced and programs load much faster.
Establish WiFi Security
Problem:
WiFi in house had same SSID as another WiFi source in the neighborhood and was not secure.
Solution:
Changed SSID. Added password protection. Connected devices to the new SSID.
Regain Access to Windows 10
Problem:
User forgot password to Windows 10 laptop.
Solution:
Because user had no data on drive to save, restored operating system without external media and reset administrative password.
Windows 10 Would Not Start
Problem:
Windows 10 on Lenovo desktop would not start.Consistently produced error message before system would load.
Solution:
Exchanged parts to determine that error message saying SATA cable was bad was wrong. Problem was defective hard drive. Removed the hard drive, copied data. Installed Solid State Drive (SSD) as replacement, loaded operating system, restored data. Boot time significantly reduced with the SSD.
Networking Problem in Construction Office
Problem:
Small construction office in town of Snohomish was having problems with computers connecting to the network printer and with other computers seeing each other for file sharing.
Solution:
Isolated the underlying problem to an unnecessary, interfering router, which was removed. Then, reconfigured Windows software to insure all computers working together on the same network.
