WiFi Printer Problem Not the WiFi
Problem:
On Queen Anne, printer was not printing on pages being ejected from printer. Customer was convinced the wifi-connected printer was having a wifi-related problem.
Solution:
Through various testing, determined that wifi was not the problem. Rather, an internal problem in the printer. All devices connected via wifi were checked for speed and reliability, which further substantiated the the problem being in the printer.
WiFi Flowing Again
Problem:
House on Mercer Island had been using three different methods to extend WiFi into a room. None were working. Home owner was confused by the conglomeration.
Solution:
Reconfigured the extender. Removed the unused wireless options. Made passwords and SSIDs consistent. Overall, streamlined everything while optimizing the performance.
Wireless Morass Eliminated
Problem:
In an extended house in Medina three tablets and an Amazon Echo were not connecting to the Internet despite the owner’s attempt to use a Netgear EX2700 – N300 WiFi Range Extender.
Solution:
Investigation determined the Netgear extender was defective. A different brand and model was put in place. Additionally, modifications were made to the source router to streamline the addition of the new extender.
In the end all three tablets and the Amazon Echo were connected to the Internet through the extender.
The home owner was provided with some instruction on how to talk with the Amazon Echo for best results.
Additionally, connecting one of the tablets to a bluetooth speaker provided additional relief to the home owner, who had been very frustrated that nothing would connect.
Setup Email on Android Tablet to Sync with Android Phone
Problem:
Elderly gentleman was having a problem getting email on his Android tablet. He wanted it to sync with the same email account on his Android phone.
Solution:
Located the correct Android app for the tablet to replace the non-working app. Installed, set it up, tested. Happy elderly gentelman.
Wireless Audio Solution for Hearing Impaired at Church
Problem:
Church’s audio delivery system for hearing impaired failed on Saturday, but needed a fix for Sunday, the next day.
Solution:
Determined wireless microphone transmit frequency and added older scanner radio tuned to the transmit frequency to relay audio from pulpit to hearing impaired.
