Wifi coverage in rambler house
Problem:
In Carnation the far end of the house was not getting good wifi coverage.
Solution:
Customer had ethernet cable already installed in most of the house, but didn’t know how to use it with various devices. By using existing ethernet connection in combination with various wireless and wired tests, an additional wifi device was added in the weak portion of the house to greatly improve coverage. Suggestions were also given for follow-up for the house and for outside wifi.
Aircraft Tracking for Residence
Problem:
Customer in North Seattle wanted to know in real time what airplanes were flying over the house.
Solution:
Recommended a hardware and software package that would run on Windows. The hardware is a software-defined radio. The software changes data received by the hardware direct from planes and converts into moving icons and data on a map.
Installed the entire setup, including mounting the antenna for the hardware outside and running cable into the house.

Post-fire Assistance in Church
A Ballard church suffered damage from an extensive fire. Advice was provided for wiring the church with ethernet cable being that all inside walls were exposed for repair.
Additionally, the church was paying at least $57/month for phone service that could not be used. The phone number was moved to a VoIP service, dropping the rate to about $3/month. This also increased flexibility, because voice mails could now be delivered via email as well as retrieved by phone. This also lays a foundation for a less expensive, multi-phone, service once the building is repaired.
Improving Wifi in large house
Magnolia customer had various wifi devices — including Roku, SmartTV, laptop — that were not performing well in a large house. The Comcast modem, as usual, was in one corner of the house. A site survey was done and then adjustments were made to the wifi extenders, wifi channels, and SSIDs.
